Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Self Tape Lab collects, how we use it, and the steps we take to keep your self tapes and personal data private.

1. Data we collect
We collect the details you provide when registering and building your profile: your name, email, display name, headshot, playing age, accent and languages, and any links you add such as a showreel, Spotlight or IMDb page. When you book sessions we store booking details, messages and notes exchanged with your reader or coach. When you submit a self tape we store the recording privately so only you and authorised readers, coaches or workshop hosts can access it.
2. Confidentiality of your self tapes
Your self tapes are private. Recordings saved to your Takes, session recordings, and tapes submitted to workshops are stored in private storage and are never made public. Access follows your app's permissions: only you and the specific reader, coach or workshop host involved in that session can view a tape, and only while that booking or workshop is active. We do not share, publish or sell your self tapes, and workshop hosts review submissions solely to provide your feedback. You can delete a take at any time from the Takes page.
3. How we use your data
We use your information to run your account, match you with readers and coaches, process payments and payouts, send booking and session reminders, and provide support. We may contact you about service changes, security and policy updates. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details; card data is handled by the provider under its own security standards. We retain order and payout records for accounting and support purposes.
5. Sharing
We share data only with the people directly involved in your session or booking, with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as payment and email providers), and where we are legally required to do so. Readers and coaches can see the profile and booking details needed to run your session, and nothing more.
6. Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Recordings and tapes are kept while you hold an active account unless you delete them sooner. You can request deletion of your data by emailing us at any time.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, or to close your account, email hello@selftapelab.com.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and the app working. Any optional analytics or marketing cookies require your consent, which you can manage at any time.
